Days1 & 2 - 11th Sept - Flying to Europe

Yes, London, although not on the itinerary we took the scenic route to Paris. Unfortunately, our Qantas plane out of Melbourne needed minor repairs to the hydraulic brake cable which resulted in a 75 minute delay in departure. As a flow on effect, we missed our flight to Paris and were rebooked on a Qantas flight to London continuing to Paris this morning. We were lucky enough to fly on an Airbus from Singapore to London - it was my best flight ever. So smooth, wonderful take-off and landing and the craft had plenty of room. Experienced a nightmare taxi ride into Paris - had to remove my nails from the dashboard and felt like we were playing a part in the latest 'Bourne' chase! - we are so glad that we are not driving. Had a quick walk around the Eiffel quarter, such contrasts between the beauty of the old historic architecture and the beast of the 70's. Looking forward to a good sleep tonight, as neither of us slept during the 25 hours of flying.
Unexpected stop in London!

Waiting for our taxi at Charles de Gaulle Airport
